Why Hire a NARI of Idaho Member?

All NARI of Idaho members are also members of NARI, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, a not-for-profit trade association with nearly 6,000 member companies nationwide, representing over 40,000 remodeling industry professionals. Currently while Idaho law does not require contractors to be licensed there is a requirement that they be registered with the Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licensing (IBOL). Contractors are required to register if they do more than $2,000 worth of work each year. To register contractors must show proof of liability insurance (minimum $300,000) and worker's compensation insurance (not required if the contractor has no employees). This applies to general contractors and remodelers as well as sub-contractors (cabinet, flooring, drywall, etc) Registration is required to be a NARI of Idaho member.

Each NARI of Idaho member, as a condition of membership, must agree to comply with a "Code of Ethics" that requires them to adhere to good business practices and performance specifications. NARI of Idaho/NARI has a process in which remodelers may have their membership revoked if it is determined that this Code of Ethics is not followed.

Recently, due to the changes in the housing market, many new home builders are calling themselves remodelers. Please be aware that there are major differences between building a new home and remodeling an existing home and an experienced remodeler can make all the difference in insuring your project's success. Be sure and check out your contractor's previous experience. NARI of Idaho members meet the experience requirements in the remodeling industry.
